johnny dollar's vault

retro pop culture and various local observations and ramblings.

My Photo
Location: Baltimore, Maryland, United States
johnny dollar's vault resides in the basement of stately dollar maisonTM, amongst the wine cellar, tiki bar, and finicky electrical panel. from time to time i will unearth various artifacts from either there or from the random crevices of my mind.

please visit the new and improved pig cookin' post!

NOTE: this blog will NOT deal with any recent pop culture (i.e. since about 1990) or topical issues, so if you're looking for discussion about britney baracko jacko flacco, look elsewhere, lol

the ballad of amusing duck

so like two plus weeks ago, my brother (oldest) sent me an engrish link for a produc(k)t called "amusing duck." the tagline "lay egg is true" was too hard for me to resist.

so i found a seller on ebay canada, of all places... i suppose they have migrated (quack) to regular ebay since then...

and it was meant to be. i bequeathed it on my younger brother, who is a duck fan. for xmas we were all very amused.

get your 2008 dj riko marry mixmas

for the past two or three years i've become a bit of a christmas music fanatic, largely powered by the internets and the veritable cornucopia of an embarrassment of riches vis-a-vis both contemporary and vintage xmas sounds that people are making available.

in my mind the premiere xmas dj is dj riko... every year his "mixmas" presents a dollar-approved mish mash of pop cultural gems that make me all "i heart you dj riko!"

git it hyar!
in fact get them all, they go back to 2002.

by the by, the premiere site for xmas music madness is falalalala.com... czech it out and jingle your jangle.
