johnny dollar's vault

retro pop culture and various local observations and ramblings.

My Photo
Name:
Location: Baltimore, Maryland, United States
johnny dollar's vault resides in the basement of stately dollar maisonTM, amongst the wine cellar, tiki bar, and finicky electrical panel. from time to time i will unearth various artifacts from either there or from the random crevices of my mind.

please visit the new and improved pig cookin' post!

NOTE: this blog will NOT deal with any recent pop culture (i.e. since about 1990) or topical issues, so if you're looking for discussion about britney baracko jacko flacco, look elsewhere, lol

nsfw? a baltimore nudist in our dining room

thru the magik of the list of craig, my honeypie acquired this mannequin who apparently modeled for many years at epstein's department store here in maryland.

does anyone have any info or memories of epstein's? the internets is quiet on this topic.

i recall as a lil kid, being kind of embarrassed when walking by hecht's or needless markup or such mally place, and the mannequins were all neekid while they were swapping out the threads. heh.

well this particular one will be transformed into a piece of garden art in the near future. pix soon.

garden is go

the above is just a taste of the hardcore gardenin' we got busy with this past weekend, but rest assured, the flowers and trees we got goin' on are the best ever... not only that, we are about 85% into completing GARDEN v2.0, and trust me, we are barring no holds this year. pix soon kthxbai!

btw if you have any garden design consulting needs, do not hesitate to visit baltimore's premiere garden coach, kelly, at the spade and rake garden company.

a new source for your island living needs

bless the internets, there is now a brand new source for all your lifestyle needs, should you plan to be shipwrecked on a paradise island anytime soon. it is called the coconut economy, and it is sponsored by the tres creative and perhaps somewhat eccentric (woulda never guessed) fraternal organization to which i am inextricably connectionated.

the site is fairly self-explanitory, and allows one to acquire such useful items as the utililavalava, which is like a utilikilt (i.e. having pockets) but somewhat less scottish and somewhat more don ho. call it a skirt and we'll sic our private army of samoan ninjas on you.

laketiki tikis always please.

the polynesian stylings of fashiontramp modeled elegantly by our own miss stumpgrinder.

this sweet fogcutter tiki mug by poptiki of colorado...

or perhaps an island tote by velveteen lounge?

what's not to like? just go there already:
