betcha the washington post would not run this story
the sunpaper runs a story about tiki culture in the context of baltimore. they don't screw up the facts too bad. i hope turbogod will still acknowledge me when i see him and his posse in cvs.

Why is it that all the hard crews hang out in the CVS?
tfg, thats cos 'cvs' REALLY stands for 'crazee violent skillaz'
Great, Just great. Now everyone will see tiki and their eyes will turn to dollar signs. You guys won't be able to buy a Leilani mug for under $1000. That article just single handedly screwed you guys for decades!
well that's one way to look at it swanky, but on the other hand, considering that this area is pretty barren for vintage tiki anyways, i figure if people get a taste for authentic tiki, the field will be ripe for when this area gets a reborn polynesian establishment. which may generate a new crop of baltimore-based tiki stuff. until then i'll be selling all my leilani mugs for $1000 :D
What I'd like to see is a map called "Bastions of Tiki" in the USA" I grew up in metro NY and there was precious little Tiki there. California seems to still be in the thick of it and pockets of the Midwest like Mr Bali Hai. Begs the question Where is Tiki today and where is it going?
