dc mayor mary and barry



now that we got a now historical lady mayor here in bee-more, my mind wanders back to the halcyon days of living around d.c. and hearing about the mayor there ~ not the clueful one they have now, but good ol' marion barry.

1) as a young tike, hearing his name mentioned on the radio or tv, i thought the dc mayor was two people: mary and barry.

2) how greatly improved was our lexicon by his immortal utterance upon being found smoking crack: 'bitch set me up!' hee.
