the fells point project... advice please?
image courtesy of tony millionaire at maakies. two thumbs up!!!
ok so like in 4 weeks i'm going to join in a convention of producers and fans of a crude yet sophisticated podcast here in the greatest city in america.
my comment-whoring™ question to you is, ok, i know fells point is all yuppie trendy now, but assuming a crowd of about 20 + people who likely enjoy both brewed and distilled spirits, where would you suggest i suggest we go?
extra points for funky/ironic/subcultural.
negative points for frat house / tasteful.
spanks in advance!

Wharf Rat is nice for diveyness and beer selection. Blarney Stone is nice for diveyness and Irishosity, but will occasionally feature a few lost and confused-looking fratboys that spilled over from the place next door. Cat's Eye and Full Moon for music with your beverage. Koopers is okay, as is Slainte but kind of buttoned-up. I heard One Eyed Mike's was cool, but I've never been. Birds of a Feather is great is you like whisky.
thx man!
I agree with Cat's Eye. If the place is packed seek out the hidden bar in the back. Warf rat is fun too. The Horse You Rode in On wins for best name but has become a bit fratty. Oh wait, very fratty, sorry, no soup for me.
Are you going on a Friday/Saturday night? Fells Point is so much more pleasant Sun-Wed. Thursday gets college night-ish and Fri/Sat are the inevitable bachelor/bachelorette party bar crawls.
definitely go with Wharf Rat.
great dive / pub feel. plus you can't go wrong with their Oliver ales.
mmmmmmmmmmmmm... ESB.
Comment-whoring™? :D
yeah it basically has to be saturday nite.
but thanks all, it looks like the wharf rat is a winnar.
@john: yeah, i did not create that term, so i use it under license :P
